OK, based on his previous "not so good" record, may I ask that this time his record is non-TAS record? - [[User:KyoriAsh|KyoriAsh]] 13:48, August 29, 2010 (UTC)

Revision as of 13:48, August 29, 2010

HS-Sanbo has deleted the vast majority of his replays from Royalflare. 08:47, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I noticed that recently. No idea what's going on there. :\ — moozooh 14:36, 30 December 2008 (UTC).
BTW, are you saving all these replays in case their owners decide to delete them? 22:08, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
About a half of the current records and some other top-tier replays, yes, but no special thought is put into preservation. I believe we need to backup the replays somehow, and make them publicly available for cases like this. — moozooh 23:00, 30 December 2008 (UTC).

Noticed how AM "amamamamam" AM has deleted all of his scores from royalflare, yet again? 22:00, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, and I have no idea what makes all these record holders do so. I can understand HS's motivation: he sweeped the entire board, and, having accomplished that, likely wanted to make way for other players. But we often see the same behavior from AM, YASU, AKST, ISO, Miduki, SET… Pretty much the entire High scores populace. I just don't get it. :\

High Scores

Hey, I was wondering how I can submit my High Score, because I got really high in a scene from Shoot the Bullet. >.> I am almost at the top. TewiNecklace 23:44, 10 April 2009 (UTC)TewiNecklace

That's explained at Shoot the Bullet: Scores. So, just go to the section you want to edit, click the "edit" link, add your entry following the example of the scores that are already there, use the Preview button to verify that you did things correctly, and voilà. Now, do you have a replay file you want to go with your score entry? --Winane 01:43, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

When you upload files, please don't forget to categorize them. Helps keep things organized and easier to find around here. --Winane 05:25, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, and especially for immediately going with the switch to categorizing replays by game! ^^ --Winane 21:18, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

re:Touhou influences

Pretty sure that Hyper Duel can be mentioned as inspiration for Sakuya.B options.

Hyper Duel (1993) has two shot types for each character, which can be switched from at any time. The second of these slows down the character, and features a stronger weapon that sways across the screen; sounds like a Focus Attack (specifically, similar to Sakuya-B) a bit.

In the Saturn version (1996), there's an extra button for locking the direction of shots while you're in this virtual "Focus Mode". That covers the locking ability of Sakuya-B's Focus Attack.

Just thought this was DYK material. 12:56, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Moving articles

Whenever you want to move an article, please use the move function, in order to properly maintain the article's revision history. The move function will automatically create a redirect from the old article name to the new one. As for the Graze article in particular, well, "Grazing" would be a better article name on a general shmups wiki, but "Graze" is the exact word displayed within ZUN's games, and is therefore probably the most likely search term a user would use. So, it's quite a minor point, but shouldn't we have "Grazing" redirect to "Graze", instead of vice versa? Anyway, I've undone the redirect you put in place, and set up a "Grazing"->"Graze" redirect. If you still really would prefer to have the article moved, you'll need to first get a sysop to delete the "Grazing" page, since an article can't be moved to a place that already has an article there (unless the latter has only ever been a redirect (to the article now being moved? - not sure if this condition is necessary, or if merely being any redirect is sufficient)). For more information, please see Help:Moving pages. --Winane 21:18, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: High Scores

Hey, sorry I haven't been on in a long time, thanks for the help with the High Scores. ^^ I do have a Replay of it. I'd like to upload it.

A request on behalf of DoujinSTG

Erm... actually is DoujinSTG's admin ask me to ask about it, but first he want to make sure that you have certain of free time to do so. If you are buzy currently, then he will not bother you to do something.

Currently, they are planning to write a book about MoF, and you are experienced in writing those High Scorer's profile data, so he's asking whether you have free time to write some intro about players who exceled in MoF's High Score attack. Thanks for reply - KyoriAsh 15:39, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

If you're free, please reply as soon as possible as admin is asking me about the matter~ - KyoriAsh 17:37, October 16, 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I meant to reply a few days ago but completely forgot to. I'm afraid I'm going to politely decline the offer.
One reason is that I only know very little about prolific MoF scorers (coa, USK, Miduki, GEPPO) that aren't already a part of DJS community (such as LYX or players from LyRa team). Of all them I only managed to locate GEPPO's blog, and the rest are only known to me from their score submissions. As such, pretty much everything I know is already there on the player pages in the wiki.
Another reason is that I wouldn't do a good job describing what has originally been Japanese/Chinese/Korean context (and I don't speak any of these languages) in English for it to be converted back to Chinese. All sorts of mistranslation and miscommunication would ensue.
I can, however, try to assemble the history of Royalflare score submissions of any given player by request, complete with dates and the authors' comments, if the admin wants me to. That I can do. — moozooh 18:00, October 16, 2009 (UTC).
Moozooh, since you did mentioned that you can try to assemble the history of Royalflare score submissions, right now the Admin of DoujinSTG request some of the MoF famous player such as Miduki, coa, GEPPO and others' history, can you make it? Thanks in advance. - KyoriAsh 15:02, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I will start working on that. Could you give me the list of all players in question? I can more-or-less guarantee full Royalflare submission histories from as early as 2007/10/28, and I can also try salvaging earlier entries in some way, but not much can be done about those. — moozooh 01:18, November 6, 2009 (UTC).
Thanks for the help, here is the list of players that he wants: coa, LYX, GEPPO and, possible, Miduki. - KyoriAsh 08:14, November 6, 2009 (UTC)
