博麗神社。
幻想郷の外れにある神社である。
人間よりも妖怪が来る事の多い、通称「妖怪神社」だ。

The Hakurei Shrine.
A Shrine on the outskirts of Gensokyo.
This is the so-called "Youkai Shrine"
where youkai come more often than humans.

魅須丸「……陰陽玉ですね」
霊夢　「そう、私の陰陽玉って貴方が作ったって言ってたよね。
　　　それって本当なの」
魅須丸「勿論ですよ。偉いでしょ」
霊夢　「ま、まあ偉いのか何なのかはよく判らないけど」
魅須丸「私は玉造を生業とする神です。
　　　　陰陽玉だけでなく、主に勾玉を作っているんですよ」
霊夢　「へー、退屈な仕事ね
　　　でさ、本当に陰陽玉とアビリティカードの材料が同じなの？」
魅須丸「広い意味では、ですけどね。
　　　　伊弉諾物質で出来ていると言う意味では」
霊夢　「伊弉諾物質……とは？」

Misumaru "...the yin-yang orb."
Reimu "So, you're the one who made my yin-yang orb...
Is that true?"
Misumaru "But of course. Impressive no?"
Reimu "Well, I dunno about whether it's impressive or not..."
Misumaru "I am a god who makes her living off making jewelry.
Not just yin-yang orbs. In fact, I mainly make magatama beads."
Reimu "Huh, sounds like a boring job.
So, does that mean the yin-yang orb is made out of the same stuff the ability
cards are made of?"
Misumaru　"In a broad sense, yes.
They are both made out of Izanagi objects."
Reimu　"And Izanagi objects are...?"

魅須丸「神代の時代に意味を持っていた物質をそう呼ぶのです。
　　　　まだ物質が誰の所有物でも無かった時代の物です
　　　　それらには物質自体に神に等しい力が宿っているのです。
　　　　今はマジックアイテムと呼んだ方が通りは良いですけどね」
霊夢　「なるほど、それなら聞いた事がある」
魅須丸「殆どの物質は名前を付けられたり、
　　　　別の意味で上書きされて普通の物質になっていますが、
　　　　山の中にはまだまだ沢山眠っているようですね」
霊夢　「山の中、そうだった
　　　そんな物質を掘って大丈夫なの？」
魅須丸「余り大丈夫とは言えませんね。
　　　　何を掘り起こしてしまうのか判りませんし」
霊夢　「じゃあ、即刻やめてよね」
魅須丸「何か勘違いをしている様ですね。
　　　　虹龍洞で伊弉諾物質を掘り出しているのは私ではない」
霊夢　「え？」
魅須丸「私は虹龍洞に危険がないか調査していたところです。
　　　　しいて言えば貴方と同じ目的ですよ。
　　　　出てきたのは龍珠くらいだったのが幸いでしたが」
霊夢　「それならば良かったわ。
　　　アビリティカードの能力も限定的で危険はなさそうだしねぇ」

アビリティカードに含まれている龍珠の量は少なく、
何らかの手段で魔力を補給しないと能力は持続しないようだった。
その手段とは市場の神の力が及ぶ範囲内での、正式な等価交換。
つまり、金銭が絡む売買である。
アビリティカードとは、大天狗の資金確保と、
市場の神の自身への信仰心のために作られた、
娯楽品だったのである。

Ending　No.01　　神々の遊び

Misumaru "Objects that held meaning back during the age of gods.
Objects from an age when objects were free of ownership.
These objects themselves hold power equal to the gods themselves.
Although it's fine to just call them magic items nowadays."
Reimu　"Oh, I've heard of those."
Misumaru　"Many of these objects have been given names
and new meanings, making them ordinary objects...
But even more of them still slumber within the mountain."
Reimu　"Oh, in the mountain!
Is it really fine to dig them up?"
Misumaru　"I cannot say that it's truly fine,
we have no idea what would get dug up after all."
Reimu　"Well stop doing it then!"
Misumaru　"There seems to be a misunderstanding.
I am not the one excavating the Rainbow Dragon Cave."
Reimu　"Huh?"
Misumaru　"I was simply looking into whether the cave was dangerous or not.
You could say that I was there for the same reasons you were.
We were lucky that it was only dragon gems though."
Reimu　"Well that's a relief.
The ability cards are limited in power and don't seem that dangerous anyways."

It seems that only a small amount of dragon gem are included in the ability
cards,
so they can't continue providing abilities unless magic is resupplied somehow.
That "somehow" was the equal exchange governed by the marketplace god's powers.
In other words, their trade with money involved.
The ability cards were, in the end, simple objects of entertainment
made to secure funds for the great tengu
and to gather faith for the marketplace god herself.
