Main Profile
Miko is a Saint who was popular at a young age. Long before the events of Ten Desires, she met Seiga Kaku, who taught Miko the charms of Taoism. Miko became happy and started to rule Japan as a Buddhist while secretly becoming a Taoist.
Miko was dissatisfied that humans must accept the fate of dying one day. After she learnt that Taoism can render you immortal, she decided to give Taoism a try. However, her body began to break down from the very Taoism itself. Instead, Miko decided to become a shikaisen. Becoming a shikaisen is to fake a death and become a hermit. She used the technique to 'die' and then resurrect when necessary.
However, Miko was afraid to undergo the process alone. She asked Mononobe no Futo to sleep first. Futo trusted Miko and went on with the shikaisen process. Futo sucessfully 'died' without decaying, so Miko went to sleep herself.
Things didn't go as planned. Miko was to wake up when the nation became limited. However, when Miko wanted to wake up, she couldn't. Buddhist monks placed seals on Miko's mausoleum. Miko didn't worry too much and continued sleeping. Eventually, it was time to resurrect.
Her mausoleum was moved to Gensokyo. Unfortunately, the Myouren Temple was landed directly above the mausoleum.
During Ten Desires, she was finally resurrected and the divine spirits came to witness the holy saint's resurrection. The heroine battled with Miko and Miko was defeated.
