:Generally, I was trying to copy the arrangement of
s that the original Japanese word flow used. Anytime the line break was used for word-wrapping, I ignored putting it in for the English translation. However, if a
s appeared well before a possible word wrap, and it could be placed without too much syntatic trouble in the English translation, then I left the breaks in. If the sentences appear unevenly and unpredictably seperated, that's how they looked in the Japanese version, more or less. I suppose whether I should have been doing this is a tougher question. --[[User:Leviathean|Leviathean]] 09:27, 16 Jun 2005 (PDT)
versus paragraphs

There are many instances in the game's and manual's Japanese text where line breaks are used. Sometimes, it's to manually wrap text onto the next line past a particular column. Oftentimes, it's used to separate ideas that are sort of related but not entirely related yet not disassociated enough to belong in their own paragraphs.

Generally, I've been splitting single blocks of text into multiple paragraphs when a topic is first mentioned (in that context), and removing line breaks from other places. (More recently, I've been removing
s but keeping the newlines to make the Edit view consistent with the Japanese layout.) I've tried to keep text in paragraph-like structures instead of single sentences separated by line breaks for no apparent reason. It seems that such an arrangement isn't always appropriate, especially with regard to things like dramatic pauses in character speech in script translations.

Am I alone in thinking that disjointed sentences unevenly and unpredictably separated by line breaks looks awkward and unnatural in English?

Uhm, like how text isn't justified in some things?

Generally, I was trying to copy the arrangement of
s that the original Japanese word flow used.
--Leviathean 09:27, 16 Jun 2005 (PDT)

Can an Admin PROTECT the page?
