If anyone feels up to it, can someone translate the Japanese wiki? - Yggdrasil325 18:51, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Things should be true to the japanese version, not the english one.

I've noticed numerous times people adjust things to fit the fan-made english version. (It's technically unofficial), and it throws off those of us who stick to the japanese version.

Need to find the one that we'll stick to.

From my point of view, the best one right now is Touhoumon ~Gensokyo~. Unfortunately it's not finished yet. Therefore we (or at least I) won't bother write any article about the story. However, there is something about the Touhoudex. Since touhoumon is originally fanmade, there are quite a lot of version even in Japanese. So right now I have some suggestion: - The first one that hacked from Fire Red. - Emerald which is pretty similar. - Lunatic has some tweak, but in my opinion it's quite close to "Touhou"

We can find out almost everything about the Touhoumon (Stat bases, EV, TM/HM, Move List...) with some hack tool (I'll up it if you need) but the Dex number is still messed up. Fortevn 22:26, September 29, 2009 (UTC)

Yes but in terms of officialness I refer to the original romhack and all updates by the makers. And I might have to cross reference the excel file that matches the jpn touhoudex. But this only corresponds to the official version, not the english version made by US fans, or the unofficial ones made by japanese fans.

I also found a Touhoumon location txt file that lists where you can find each one and what rough chance you'll have of running into one.

Info on English versions

It seems that it would be more appropriate to make the Touhoumon page not a redirect, but a page for English versions, since it is not the title of Touhou Puppet Play. Disambiguate and such but, I've been trying to find decent info on this wiki and really I haven't found anything pertaining to any English versions yet. Is there any such info here? It's simply confusing, as the Puppet Play page is for a Japanese game and yet nearly all the information is only in English, rather than perhaps showing side-by-side language information (I actually just saw a post being confused on that). I think this would clear up some problems with people getting the wrong idea (thinking it's an *English patched* version), not to mention actually help them recognize the Japanese attacks and such. The Touhoumon world is rather confusing and this wiki (section) could do more to clear it up. I've yet to find anything that really does.

Honestly, I've had some experience in Japanese and I could wade through most of the dialogue and such with work, but it wouldn't be very fun, and my gf would be at a disadvantage for sure. Otherwise, I might play 1.8 or the presumably still unfinished Gensokyo. The English stuff needs more clear attention... somewhere. [And oh yeah, totally unrelated, but the strongest day of the year is approaching. There should be some internet-wide event or something.] StrikerX22 04:39, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

  • There's various sites dedicated to the english versions, such as the thread on Pooshlmer, which has a link to the forum for the most popular English version.
