cross-promotion between wikis focused on Japanese makers?
Some examples can be seen at the main pages of AliceSoft Wiki, as well as the "Related Communities" module box in the sidebar, where wikis dedicated to TYPE-MOON, SNK, and other Japanese game makers are linked to. I would like to advocate similar footers be added to the bottom of the main page here (for TYPE-MOON and/or whichever ones the community here sees fit). To change what's in the Related Communities sidebar box (which all anon-visitors see), admins can edit MediaWiki:Monaco-related-communities. -Afker All hail AliceSoft! 05:31, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- Hi all, since nobody else has commented on this topic, I'm going to be bold and experiment on the main page with the cross-promotion footer, and see how the feedback goes. Of course, if everyone hates it, it can/will be removed. -Afker All hail AliceSoft! 02:48, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Main page layout update
Hullo! I am Kirkburn, your friendly local Wikia Gaming Helper!
Hopefully you have read about the skin and ad changes at Wikia's New Style on Central Wikia. If not, I hope you'll have a look.
One of the changes is a block of two ads on each main page. It's possible that they won't always show up, but to ensure your main page continues to work properly when they do, you need to update your main page column formatting code with new column tags.
I have drafted a main page using the new tags on User:Kirkburn/Dev which I hope you can take a look at - feel free to make a copy and edit it. Though the layout may seem restrictive at first, there really is a fair amount you can do with them - for example see these customized main pages - Muppet Wiki, WoWWiki, FFXIclopedia. You may want to chat with your wiki community about what direction to take with a new main page.
If you encounter any problems with the new tags, please let us know.
My apologies for any inconvenience these changes bring.
Thank you for your time, Kirkburn (talk) 11:24, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- Uhm... and that... <insert vulgar word here> is supposed to be what? Not better than the old one at least... Arget, (talk) 16:05, 1 September 2008 (GMT +1)
- This "updated layout" wants to make me rip my eyes out. I want the old one back, pronto. --ArseneLupin3 15:29, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- User:Rukaroa and I have made some tweaks to attempt make it look better. -Afker All hail AliceSoft! 18:00, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- I saw the Lyrics section put it's not place in the Main Page in the Wiki... I supposed i should put right? -Dandan550 15:43, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Duel of the Earthworms: 〜 vs ~
The links to game titles are edited on the main page like this; TH11 東方地霊殿 〜 Subterranean Animism. But look at [this page]. The letter between Japanese & English words is "~" (fullwidth tilde), not "〜" (wave dash). Normally Japanese people don't use or see a wave dash, because a Japanese version of keyboard don't have a key of wave dash, but fullwidth dash (shift+^). Is there any reason why wave dash is used there?
Categorize this wiki
Touhou Wiki is still not categorized in wikia:c:gaming:Portal:Full Wiki List. We have 2120+ articles as of now, that would reward us an orange star. We just need to decide in which category Touhou should be. --TOUHOU-Miles 00:23, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- An orange star? Sign me up! Really, though, the Shooter category is best for Touhou. We'll be a little out of place among Doom and Halo, but then again, Pokemon is in the Fighting category, so whatever works is fine. glasnost0 01:04, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

whether or not period mark is needed at the end of each title?
ZUN's manner is to put a period, or full stop, at the end of each title. And The current top page omits it. 東方Wiki or Japanese Wikipedia follows the former style while English Wikipedia follows the latter style. I don't think English manner is bad, but what is the criterion? We're spelling the name at the index name as ZUN spellt in PMiSS and setting memos, regardless of how in body text. It shows we're to spell as ZUN does, then why is the current top page is like that? --Masuo64 13:06, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Suggestion that we add more categories
Each official title has its particular pages; for example, Story, Strategy, Character, Spell Card, which Wikipedia is likely to have but touhou wiki doesn't have. Now I want to suggest to you that we make new categories. The categories of my idea are like this:
1. Official works: Official Game, Offcial CD, Offcial Book.
2. Things about official works: Game Play, Story, Character, Music, Strategy, Miscellaneous. Perhaps it's needed to add Frame Data, Netplay to them.
3. Doujin works: Doujin Game, Doujin Book, Doujin CD. (But I suspect we have difficulty of making these categories because of the enormous number...)
These may be a little short, but we can make new categories except these. At least, the categories of official works are necessary, I believe. --Masuo64 12:54, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Adding the "ability" topic in characters.
I will add the Ability in all characters. Suggesting the ones who appeared very commonly and detailed by the fans. If anyone want to say about this idea please inform to me. Dandan550 14:31, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
P.S i will start first on Reimu Hakurei since she had the longest storyline histoy.
- shld be fine, i'll edit if necessary..
