Unless a better link to info about Curse Gods can be found, English speakers will be completely lost as to what they are, what they do, what they look like, etc. The Mononoke link leads to an artistic depiction of tatarigami that can shed some light on the topic for unfamiliar readers. And most importantly, it's in English, whereas other links to tatarigami info are not. TheTrueBlue 22:49, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- I don't know, the words "curse god" already gives a good impression of what those things are. _dk 22:52, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- What shape can it be in? What could it look like? What kinds of curses do they inflict? Are they responsible for curses independently? Or do they mostly respond to summons from faithful devotees? Are they a patron god of curses? Or are they simply gods who choose to use curses? Are they themselves a curse made manifest? None of this is implicit and at least the Mononoke link gives one artistic depiction from which at least an impression of what it could look like can be gleamed. - It's pretty obvious that Tenshi is talking about Suwako (or Mishakuji-sama), so those things aren't necessary to know. _dk 23:03, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- What?! Suwako IS Mishakuji-sama? And Suwako is a CURSE GOD? I didn't know this, where the heck is this coming from?! Her profile says she "controlled them" but not that she was one. How could the cute and cuddly Suwako be a curse god?! Wow, I'm sorry but that was not obvious or readily knowable at all. TheTrueBlue 23:08, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- Uh, I didn't mean that. I should say Tenshi is talking to Suwako about Mishaguji-sama instead. Knowing this, the Mononoke interpretation is inappropriate to descrbie Mishaguji. _dk 23:15, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- Very well. But I do hope some kind of English information can be linked through the term "curse god". Ideally one that can answer questions similar to the ones I previously posted. So Mishaguji = curse god? The only readily available English info on Mishaguji is from that IOSYS song and consists of nothing more than their "destiny" to hibernate underground. TheTrueBlue 23:35, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- Your understanding is correct. In the real world, Mishaguji is a curse god, um, curse god or curse gods who seems the extremely ancient native god unrelated to the central myth. The lores are quite various in each area, and its deity has been often seen as being identified with Takeminakata (the god enshrined in SuwaTaisha's Kamisha, or the inspiration of Kanako) & Moreyashin (the first priest of SuwaTaisha's Shimosha, or the inspiration of Suwako). So there's no confirmed, uniformed information about it except it, perhaps they, is curse god. this is information about real Mishaguji. In Touhou, there's no data except in Suwako's character setting text, so it's probably OK to see Mishaguji in Touhou as in the real world. --Masuo64 06:46, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
