Regarding "jerk" vs. "dork": I'm sure you could produce style manuals that say that "jerk" is male-specific, but the Google search shows that in modern usage, it's gender-neutral, and there's no excuse for a translator of a work written in character to use prescriptivist grammar. That said, I won't revert it again unless someone chimes in with a different opinion on the main issue of whether girls can use 野郎 without being rude; I'd always assumed that お前 and 野郎 were used more commonly by men, and would thus be even ruder when used by women.
