Relationships

Sakuya serves Patchouli tea (Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red), and Patchouli has full authority to command her without having to run it by Remilia, first (Silent Sinner in Blue, Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, etc) as well as berate/chastise her (IaMP). So Patchouli should be listed as a relationship, too. Although I'm not exactly sure what you call that relationship. "Mistress' Friend", while technically true, doesn't really capture the essence of the fact that on the chain of command, Patchouli is clearly Sakuya's superior.

However, Patchouli being Sakuya's "Mistress Friend" at least has more weight and is more deserving of being labelled a relationship than Flandre being "Mistress' Sister". While we've seen many times when Patchouli and Sakuya have interacted, there isn't a single case in any official work where Sakuya has ever interacted with Flandre. In fact, there isn't even any proof that Flandre is aware of Sakuya's existence at all. Flandre almost certainly is, of course, but the point here is that there are MANY instances in official works where Sakuya and Patchouli definately have a relationship (in this case, Patchouli being another boss of Sakuya's), while there isn't a single instance anywhere of Flandre even mentioning Sakuya (though Remilia talked about Flandre with Sakuya in IN, at least. That's as far as we've ever seen, though)

Therefore, it is kinda odd that Flandre is deserving of being listed as a relationship to Sakuya just for being "Mistress' sister", while Patchouli, who clearly has legal authority over Sakuya (within the EoSD's chain of command) and exercises it throughout official works, isn't there at all.

Again, though, I'm not sure exactly what you'd call that relationship. "Superior" would technically fit, I suppose, but seems a bit too vague by itself, especially since Remilia is obviously the top superior. For similar reasons, referring to Mei Ling as "subordinate" feels rather 'off', too.

(about the Mei Ling comment in the above, Sakuya appears to have authority over Mei Ling (she gives Mei Ling orders on occassion in the various Three Fairy mangas), although this might not really warrant mention in her relationships section.)

Remi's Comment in EoSD

So Remilia calls Reimu a 'murderer' and talks about Sakuya as though she were dead before her fight. Is this a problem in the translation or did ZUN just decide Sakuya would be too popular to kill off? --Wererat42 18:49, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Sakuya's (Alleged) Pads

No mention of pads? Where exactly did the padded bra joke originate?

I'm firmly in the belief that Sakuya, along with Reisen wear panties and not bloomers, given how modern their fashion is

Look at the pictures of her in Imperishable Night & IaMP. The cheast of former is like a very flat board, but that of the latter is two temptating mountains. That had some people make the setting that she used the padded bra. Of course some radical Sakuyaists refused it. They announced in some time that it's a ZUN's gift to enjoy both of her, and they in another time that it's because of the influence of perspective (mistake of eyes) so her chest is in fact flat/big. Anyway, this is unconstructive & non-delicate.

And I agree to your view about Sakuya & Udonge. The setting lets our dreams wide.

I hate to shatter your dreams, but Udonge wears bloomers. They can be seen at various points in Inaba of the Moon and Inaba of the Earth.

Take heart, though; Sakuya's still an unknown. Also, Yukari wears stockings, and while I could be wrong, those seem somewhat incompatible with bloomers. Also, Sanae is a modern girl; she may wear panties.

Luna Dial

Does it ever show sakuya with the luna dial in cannon work or is it just fannon?

It's kinda odd that that is the only time it shows up. In truth i was looking for more concrete proof. A picture with her having a pocket watch only proves that she has a pocket watch not that it has any power.

Sakuya's theme

Actually, what makes me wonder is why ZUN decided to make an entirely new theme song for her in the first place, to be honest. Although, now that I do think of it, I've seen an uncountable amount of videos (not necessarily Touhou-related) that had the song as its background music. The answer on Sakuya's dissappearnce on U.F.O

I was having some random research... and checking to other artist on their react on Sakuya's disappearance on the game... I never thought of this but. Occupation

I was playing Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, and I recall that Sakuya mentioned in her route that she is a "Part-time resolver of incidents". Should this be included under 'Occupation' for her? Rednal29 21:24, December 3, 2009 (UTC)

「犬咲夜」

Since it was removed once, I do want to comment on why 「犬咲夜」 is significant. Simple answer: Google search. I have seen the hiragana more often, but a google search for ”犬咲夜” (with quotes around it) actually gave more more results for the Kanji name.--Tosiaki 07:47, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Does anyone know how to type in 「咲夜」?

Does anyone know how the hell you type in 「咲夜」? I keep on having to type in "saku [backspace] yoru" to give me 「咲夜」 which is not the way people do it in Japan, I suspect. I don't really know how to use Microsoft IME so well.--Tosiaki 07:48, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
