In the Eyewitness Reports section, for the line

山から戻ってこないので、毎年、山の妖怪に喰われて春を告げるのをやめるのかも知れない。

I'm not quite sure what to go with to translate 喰われて. I assume the meaning of 喰う in this case is "to tease, to torment, to taunt, to make light of, to make fun of", which would make the line

Perhaps the reason that she's never seen returning from the mountain is that, each year, she's made fun of by the mountain youkai and stops announcing spring.

However, I'm not sure if this is the right meaning of the word in this case, so I've left that part blank.

Also, in the Countermeasures section, for the line

花の種を用意しておくと、喜んで辺りに花を咲かせるだろう。

I'm not sure of the intended meaning of 花を咲かせる. As an expression it means "to make lively, to become animated, to have fun talking about something", but it literally means "to make flowers bloom". Since we're dealing with a Fairy Herald of Spring here, I'm not entirely certain which is meant (or if ZUN perhaps even intended it to be ambiguous in this way). You had better take them literally. Former question. A witness says s/he has no idea how Lily White always comes from the west & for the mountain. And Akyuu replys she might be eaten by a youkai , because she never come back from the mountain, & on that moment she stops announcing spring. In Zun's sentences, "喰う" is the same as "食う".
"花を咲かせる" is "make flowers bloom". She is a fairy of spring, so when you prepare seeds of flower, she shall enjoy making flowers bloom. Those are what Zun says. --Masuo64 19:23, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
