Apparently you take a cherry penalty if you don't finish off a boss in time.

Okay...there are several things common to all 3 games. How about making a Windows Gameplay section? I don't think repeating everything is useful. - J5983 17:22, 21 Aug 2005 (PDT)

I actually don't agree with this. I believe the things that are common should stand with the non-common things, just for the sake of having all the necessary gameplay information for a specific game in one place. There are also minor details regarding the basic gameplay that change from title to title (when extra lives are awarded, when shot power levels up, character stats, last spell window, types of stages) as well as the entire scoring system. (Also, the naming of your preposed page doesn't seem to include PoFV, which is remarkably different from the other Windows games...) --Leviathean 20:27, 23 Aug 2005 (PDT)

The name can be something like Windows Single Player. It just seems that there will only be about 3 sentences changed between TH6, 7, and 8 in the first section. At least the Control, Basic Gameplay, Shot, Bomb, Lives, Boss Battle, Scoring...the parts that explain what the items are. We could also stick them in the encyclopedia and link to them a lot.
Why is there a 9 in the lower left corner of the screenshot? - J5983 21:17, 23 Aug 2005 (PDT)

The thing is that there are usually differences between Control, Basic Gameplay, Shot, Bomb, Lives, Boss Battle, Scoring for each game. They might be minor, but still differences. And since we have to explain the differences anyway, we might as well include the common information with them so that the reader doesn't need to go to different pages just to figure out how to play a single game.
Also, what screenshot are you talking about? 9 in the lower left corner? You're confusing me. (Also, please use two newlines between comments... It's easier to differentiate between comments that way, at least in IE.) --Leviathean 06:04, 24 Aug 2005 (PDT)

The differences are very minor. I was hoping that we could assume they knew what the basic terms were and move on from there.

A website[]

Machine translation is woefully inadequate. There appears to be something about an increase in Cherry/shot rate over time? And only a 66% cherry rate penalty for focusing? I thought it was far more severe.

Phantasm stage[]

The Phantasm difficulty of the Extra Stage is unlocked for a character once you clear the Extra Stage. This one is like a "second quest" of Extra. Many of the Spell Cards are similar, but all of them are ramped up in difficulty.

Hmm... I completed Extra stage and Phantasm still wasn't available, so I started looking for info. If this thread is any hint, though, completing Extra Stage is only one pre-requisite -- players also need to clear 50 spellcards with the selected character. Is this true?

Continues[]

You may continue up to 5 times.

That doesn't seem to be true. When first turning on the game I would only have 3 continues per game. After a bit of playing, it increased to 4 (for all new games), and then after more playing to 5. I'm not quite sure what triggered the change, but I usually noticed it after relatively high scoring run.

Borders as deathbombs?[]

I just had the strangest thing happen during a practice run of Stage 4: A Supernatural Border activated just as I got hit (the death noise happened), negating the hit like a deathbomb and canceling the border, collecting small cherry items from bullets as usual. I've never seen this happen before and this wiki didn't mention it either, so I saved the replay as evidence. 84.182.11.6 19:34, 30 December 2008 (UTC) Quizer
