Can't play FinalA with Reimu Solo

I searched the wiki and I can't find any info on whether certain characters cannot play certain Final stages. Despite selecting FinalA after defeating Reisen, I keep being redirected to FinalB. Is it a bug? Or Reimu Solo ALWAYS selects FinalB? I played through FinalB the first time round, before completing FinalA for Reimu...

You have to clear both finals with a given character before you can choose between them... Or have you done that? Sorry if I misunderstood. -7HS

Well, I'm saying that I should go to FinalA if it's my first time using that character, right? But in my case I get the selection menu for FinalA or FinalB. But no matter what I choose, I am still sent to FinalB instead. I also have the same problem when I go with the other solo characters.

Why don't downloaded replays work?

As the title. Game crashes when I go to Replays after I place downloaded replay files in my replay directory.

Other than that, my replays tend to screw up once in awhile (wrong movement). How do I solve this?

Ok, I tried patching, but for some reason I can't patch past 1.00a. The patching program just doesn't continue.

Yeah, I know. It's just that it's not working for me. I run it the same way as I did the 1.00a patch, but it just fails to install. :(

The installer fails because it can't find some txt. Run it in japanese mode using applocale and it will display which txt it is missing. copy the japanese characters then go to the installation directory and create said txt (or rename the existing underscore one if you got it from simulationstyle) and run the installer again. then it will complain that it cant fain the manual directory, so do the same for the underscore directory and run the installer a third time. it should continue all the way through this time.

the txt should be named おまけ.txt and the directory マニュアル

At Minimum, you should be using AppLocale. Optimally, you should be doing this while in full Japanese mode (Regional and Language Settings from Control Panel). --Psieye

Yeah, I changed the language, so now I can see what it actually says. Something like I interrupted it or something? No way, I never interrupted it, and I still can't get it to work. :( Any ideas?

We discussed this on the Simulation Style forums actually. As strange as it may be, if you really can't find an alternate source, then re-download while in Full Japanese mode. I've no idea why that's supposed to work but it's got anecdotal evidence.

The best way to ensure that you have a proper installation of IN is to actually run the installer (i.e., mount an ISO or, gasp, buy the actual CD) while in Japanese IME. This should fix the problem with patching. Moogy ^(talk) 09:02, 19 April 2007 (PDT)
