Rin in Fan Culture[]
RIN SAYS THAT YOU SUCK.
- Different fan interpretations of Rin's appearance exist in addition to the circle cut, such as this. More canonically faithful depictions (if we accept the circle cut as a canonical depiction of Rin) depict her with blonde hair, red bow, red blouse, and pink or white shirt, as in this image.
- Though she never had a role in any games there is a fan-made theme.
- Most fans depict Rin with a negative personality and always being a nobody or having no one know who she is when she's with other characters.
- In other works, she is seen alongside Reimu and Marisa as their friend. Touhou Myotanpen is an example of such works.
- Some other works feature Rin as an insane person, frequently hitting herself and crying. Fans have gone further and compared her with Tansit from Space Ghost Coast to Coast, who has a similar personality to this fan depiction of Rin.
- It's commonly thought Rin did solve the incident in EoSD with Reimu and Marisa, but ZUN didn't have enough time to document her role in the story.
- A recent meme has Rin paired with Warp Darkmatter from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and Rin's personality has been seen as a "bad girl" type due to this.
- Some fans show Rin Satsuki as a character similar to Shermy from Peanuts, in that she used to be Reimu's friend, but disappeared as the timeline went on.
- Rin seems to have a younger sister in fanworks named Asuka Satsuki. The name was derived from the Japanese name "Marin" which uses the same kanji used in Rin's name. Asuka's appearance is visually based on the alternate design for Rin linked above.
- This image depicts Rin and Asuka with Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, and Sakuya Izayoi as a group called "Los Banditos."
- Although not as often, some fans have thought Rin Satsuki is the daughter of Reimu and Marisa.
