妖夢は、冥界に存在する白玉楼（＊１）で庭師兼、剣の指南役として住み込みで働いていたのだが、最近になって顕界（＊２）でも頻繁に見かけるようになった。 |
Youmu serves as the gardener for Hakugyokurou(*1) in the Netherworld, and she is also kept as a live-in sword instructor, but lately she can frequently be seen in this world(*2). |

と言うのも、現在（＊３）、冥界と顕界の結界が薄くなっているからだと思われる。 |
Though, it is likely because lately the barrier between this world(*3) and the next has become weak. |

結界が薄くなっている理由については、様々な憶測が飛び交っているが、実際の理由は境界を操る妖怪の気紛れである。 |
Many theories have been put forth to explain the weakness in this barrier, but its true cause is the whim of the youkai of boundaries. |

剣術を扱う能力を持ち、二刀流の達人である。 |
She is possessed of superior swordsmanship, and is a master of a two-handed technique. |

二つの剣は、楼観剣と白楼剣と呼ばれている。 |
The two swords she uses are called Hakurouken and Roukanken. |

長い方が楼観剣である。 |
The longer sword is Roukanken. |

楼観剣は、妖怪が鍛えた剣と伝えられており、長すぎて並の人間には扱えない。 |
It's believed that Roukanken was forged by youkai, and it's too long to be used by normal humans. |

一振りで幽霊十匹分の殺傷力を持つと言われているが、幽霊を殺傷する事は出来ない（＊４）為、何処までが本当か判らない（＊５）。 |
It's said that it has the power to kill ten spirits in one stroke, but as one cannot actually kill spirits(*4), it's unknown how true this could be(*5). |

一方、白楼剣は、魂魄家の家宝の刀であり、斬られた者の迷いを断つ事が出来ると言われている。 |
The other sword, Hakurouken, is the ancestral sword of the Konpaku family, and it's said to have the power to dispel the confusion of those it cuts. |

幽霊に使えば即ち成仏であり、人間に使えば斬れ味が悪くてちょっと痛い刀である。 |
That is, using it on ghosts will cause them to attain enlightenment, and using it on humans will cause them discomfort and a bit of pain. |
|
どういう理屈か判らないが、魂魄家の者しか扱えない。 |
The exact details of its function are unclear, but it can only be used by the Konpaku family. |

|
冥界に存在する白玉楼に住んでいる。 |
She lives in the Netherworld in Hakugyokurou. |
|
朝は白玉楼の主人より早く起き、庭の見回りを行う。 |
She wakes up before the master of the tower in the mornings to patrol the gardens. |
|
昼は庭の手入れと剣の修行をしつつ、お使いを頼まれればお使いに出掛ける。 |
During the day she tends to the gardens and practices her swordsmanship, and will go out on errands if called. |
|
夜はまた見回りを行い、白玉楼の主人が寝たのを碓認してから就寝するという。 |
She patrols again at night, and supposedly goes to bed only after confirming that the master of the tower has done so. |
|
この時、侵入者を発見すれば、妖怪だろうと人間だろうと、直ちに斬り付けるのだ。 |
If she were to discover an intruder at this time, she would surely cut them down at once whether they were human or youkai. |

意思の疎通が可能であり、話し合いにより衝突回避が可能である。 |
It's possible to come to mutual understanding with her, so conflict can be avoided through discussion. |

他の妖怪のように、食事や暇潰しの目的で人間を襲う事は無い。 |
Like other youkai, she doesn't assault humans without a purpose, such as food or boredom. |

こちらから仕掛けたり、挑発したり、相手にとって不利益となる行動を取らなければ、まず戦闘になる事は無いだろう。 |
If you don't provoke her or put yourself in a blatantly disadvantageous situation, she will probably not attack you. |

もし、険悪な雰囲気になってしまった場合でも、余程修練を積んだ者でない限り勝負にならないので、全力で戦闘を回避する必要がある。 |
Even if things take a turn towards dangerous territory, it's possible to avoid battle, so it's important to give your all to conflict resolution. |
