Myouren Hijiri is an enigmatic character, only known to have taught Byakuren Hijiri buddhist magic. He died earlier than Byakuren. He has not yet appeared in any Touhou games and the chances of him appearing in one is very small. A reason could be because most of the cast in the series are female or that he doesn't have an official artwork/portrait.

Etymology

  • The name Myouren means "fate, command, decree, destiny, life, appoint" (命) (myou) and "lotus, water lily" (蓮) (ren).
  • Myouren's surname Hijiri means "holy" (聖).
