The Hakurei Shrine. A dilapidated shrine on the eastern border of Gensokyo.
It's always bustling with non-human activity, as if it were a shelter
for itinerant youkai.
Naturally, humans tend not to visit a shrine with so many youkai, and with the people's declining belief, the patron god of the shrine was worried.

And so, the shrine reached a turning point.

gods of the outside world, belief in the Hakurei's god was on the decline,
