- "Yama, Ochi, Imi nado nai wa" comes from the word " yaoi" (abbreviation of "yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi").
- When ZUN writing a guide to play one of his game, he use number as mark of the menu. Finally the last one, number 9 who point at Cirno, Zun use this word: BAKA in Katakana(idiot).Seen Here.
- Due to the infamous manual screenshot, Cirno has been nicknamed "Nine-ball" or simply "⑨".
- About "shinzan no chuu domo wa hoi, hoi, hoi": Longtime fans of Touhou are often in conflict with new fans; the latter is called "新参" (shinzan, newcomer) pejoratively by the former. One common Japanese net slang term is "厨" (chuu, SOB). It is a shortening of "厨房" (chuubou), which is a pun on "中坊" (also pronounced chuubou), a condescending term for a middle schooler. "ホイホイ" (Hoihoi, bringing something in handily) comes from "ゴキブリホイホイ" (Gokiburi Hoihoi), a popular cockroach trap. A "shinzan hoihoi" is a character apt to get the popularity of many people (most of them newcomers) because of his/her appeal to a wide audience, thus increasing in number of people who make fanworks without knowing anything about the character or his/her world. In Japan, Marisa, Alice, Udonge, and Aya are seen as the main "shinzan hoihoi".
- The bridge of 2nd verse "Herahera niyakenagara... Saabaa kanri mo otsukare-san tte toko ne!" illustrates the situation that Touhou has a burst of popularity in Niko Niko Douga".
- "Asameshi tabetara akago no te wo hineru" refers to the Japanese idioms "朝飯前" (asameshimae, before breakfast) and "赤子の手をひねるような" (like twisting a baby's hand), both of which mean "very easy".
