Despite her capabilities to debuff targets and buff herself, Reisen is still an unfortunately underwhelming character in actual execution. This is partially because her base statistics are extremely low, so even if she buffs them up she won't find much effectiveness. On top of that, her damage formulas favor attacking targets with low MND in the first place. If you do use her, focus on her ability to debuff your enemies, then swap in characters who can take better advantage of their lowered statistics in order to do greater damage than Reisen will be able to.

Recruitment
12F: Defeat Reisen, Eirin, and Kaguya in a battle
Eirin is required to complete the game.
Play Notes
Boasting startlingly high stats overall - especially for defensive purposes - Eirin is definitely not a character to overlook. Well capable of surviving some powerful attacks - especially elemental ones due to her excellent affinities - she can serve as a party medic when Minoriko or Sanae just can't take the hits. Plus, her percentage-based healing and capability to overheal a party member with Hourai Elixir means she works extremely well supporting Komachi or other high-HP characters. Her high mind and good offensive attacks are, if a bit expensive, very capable, and her high SP growth rate means the cost won't be bothering you for too long.

6F: Recruit Iku

10F: Go beyond all three OFF-barriers to find Tenshi
1F - 10F: Find and defeat a Magic Butterfly on each floor
10F: Return to and defeat Tenshi
Play Notes
The closest party member you're ever going to have to a pure wall, Tenshi is a tank who doesn't sport particularly excellent HP, but makes up for it with stellar DEF and MND. When buffed up - which she can do to herself - these values are increased massively, to the point where many attacks will be reduced to doing no damage, or an absolute minimum. Unfortunately, her low HP does make her a target for attacks in the Plus Disk that don't factor defenses in at all. Even then though, she can still be useful thanks to the side effect of her Sword of Rapture, which has the unique effect of completely removing any stat increases on the target. All in all, a very useful unit for boss fights.

14F: Find and talk to Flandre
15F: After accumulating 3000 Battle Points between Reimu, Marisa, Remilia, Sakuya, Patchouli, and Meiling, talk to and defeat Flandre
Play Notes
Flandre is a complete and total powerhouse. Her HP, attack, magic, and speed stats go through the roof, and her spells are super powerful. Unfortunately, she also has a lot of setbacks. For one, her defense and mind stats are very poor, meaning she'll get mowed over if you leave her in the front spot for more than 1-3 "turns". Her next setback is her affinities. With the exception of her FIR affinity, she has some of the worst, if not THE worst, affinities in the game. Another setback is within her spells. Since she can't usually control who she attacks (She is a psycho, after all), she ends up decreasing everyone's active gauge (excluding hers) with 2 of her 3 spells, forbidden fruit and laveatein (for 50 and 100%, respectively). Her other spell, starbow break, ends up harming her for some damage as well as the enemy. Her final setback is her resistances. She has 0 SIL and StatDrop resistance, meaning that enemies that can silence and debuff her, will silence and debuff her if they target her (unless you have some SIL/debuff resistant equipment on her). Despite all those setbacks, Flandre is a very good nuke character. If you put her in your party, use her outstanding speed, attack, and magic to attack and crush normal enemies to bits before they get a chance to do anything at all. For bosses, use starbow break and starbow break only. Decreasing the party's active gauge is not a good idea during a boss fight.

Recruitment
3F, 6F, 7F, 9F, 11F, 12F: Find a sake jar shard
14F: Talk to Suika twice
Play Notes
The first thing you may notice about Suika is that her stats are somewhat of an oddity. She is a physical attacker, but instead of having high DEF to go along with it, she has high MND. This presents a very interesting position for Suika because she can be sent out against magic-using enemies with the MND to take hits from them and the ATK and Spells to be able to significantly damage them. Missing Power is a great self-buff if used in conjunction with someone that can reset Suika's speed, such as Sakuya or Aya. Throwing Atlas is a highly damaging spell to use against bosses, especially if Suika has been buffed, but be careful of the very high delay on it. Gathering and Dissipating presents a unique take on a Dispel effect. It can get rid of all debuffs AND buffs from an ally. Be careful with using it. All in all, Suika is a great character to bring along if for magical enemies and bosses due to her combination of specialties in ATK and MND.

Recruitment
3F: Recruit Rumia
9F: With 150 battle points for Rumia, find an event involving Rumia and a ghost.
10F: With 200 battle points for Youmu, From 12F Relay Point with Red switch OFF, head down to 10F and find an event about Youmu and Yuyuko
11F: With 200 battle points for Chen and 200 for Patchouli, find two events involving these characters
(All of the above events will disappear after viewing if BP was high enough. If they remain, you didn't have enough)
14F: Find an event with Yuyuko and beat her, and she will join
Play Notes
A powerful force for your team, Yuyuko is blessed with some excellent stats for almost any purpose. Excellent HP and the second-best MND stat, plus stellar affinities in half the elements (And only just-below-100 affinities elsewhere), makes her an incredible anti-magic tank, and that's only further aided by her obscene ailment resistances. Her only real vulneurability is physical attacks, but again, her HP is enough to take a bit of a beating. She also suffers in the speed department, being the second-slowest in the game naturally. Thankfully, her ability to reduce the enemy's active gauges (Thus delaying their turns) can help make up for this. Her power output is pretty good (Though she especially shines for her high DTH-inflicting rates - many enemies that are almost invincible to other attacks are vulneurable to DTH), and her SP total is very high too, although Saigyouji Flawless Nirvana, for all of its incredible power, will still eat through it pretty fast.
