I've got SA installed, all fine and dandy. Excitement rushes through me as I go to open it-when it loads, however, I find it's cycling through the options rapidly-it makes the game pretty much unplayable. I've tried restarting, it persists. When I finally manage to get into the game, albeit frustrated in having to select options with timing, the arrowkeys do nothing. Could anyone help me fix this? I desperately want to play!

- A d3dx9_37.dll is required to play specific games. May I ask how big the file is? So how much MB is it? You may have some things missing. I downloaded mine from here. Hmmm...The two parts took a few minutes to download-part 1 is 200 MB, and part 2 is 108 MB. I don't mind if it doesn't have Extra unlocked, this is my first Touhou game so there's no hope of me beating it anyhow. XD Thanks for the help, I can't wait to play!
I checked, I do have d3dx9_37.dll. I even downloaded your version and the problem still persists. I checked to see if the problem was confined to this particular game-I downloaded and installed IN, and I still have the same problem there. Any advice or do you not know?
- On google, look up "subterranean animism download" and try as many as you can. If they all don't work, it's either that they all 'happen' to be dead, or it's your computer. If it has nothing to do with your computer, then I'm sorry I don't know :/. And SA as your first game!?!?? I recommend IN or EoSD, SA is the hardest Touhou game (Satori and Utsuho make things really REALLY hard) Okuu 06:34, October 4, 2011 (UTC)
I've tried multiple ones, I think it's my computer. Also, I'm an overachiever with a lot of time,and with some prior experience with danmaku, so yeah. I'm going to try everything, so I minus well tell you some stats about my compy-it has Windows XP for an operating system and has a tablet and a scanner installed- it also has some media features on the keyboard that when I press, I regain SOME mobility on the opening screen- just thought I'd put out those details so maybe you could help me. D:
EoSD also has the same problem, I downloaded and extracted that one as well off the same site as before. I don't think my compy likes the games :( They'll run them just fine but the directions are all screwed up!
Nevermind, I fixed it! I installed the games on my laptop instead-and they work perfectly! Though, after being slaughtered by Green Eyed Monster for the umpteenth time, I decided to go play IN-I must have a serious case of beginner's luck, because I got through most of Marisa before I had to continue, and I got to the beginning of stage 6 when all my continues ran out-what do you think? ^^

Sorry I haven't posted in a while-I've been so engrossed in the games, they're so much fun! I'm working hard on beating Kaguya in IN, getting past Orin in SA (Funny you say Satori would be hard; Yuugi and Rin gave/are giving me a lot more trouble than she has.) I nearly got past Sanae in MOF, and I'm still getting massacred by stage 4 on EoSD. I got to Yuyuko with all my continues in PCB-but died on her first nonspell. My god, Youmu is a nightmare.
