I've recently installed EoSD on my computer (MacBook Pro, running Vista with Bootcamp, and have not been able to play the game. Every time I run the executable, what I assume to be the title screen pops up, but no buttons or options appear. I hear the music for the title screen playing, but when I try to click anywhere, in closing the window for example, the game freezes and I have to ctrl-alt-delete to close it. I've tried this with the patches installed, in compatibility mode, and from different sources, with no change. I have been able to run and play some of the newer Touhou games (SWR and Ten Desires) without any sort of problem.

Did you try running the .EXE extension in 256 colors, I've had similar troubles running Touhou on emulators, but since you state your running Vista it's probable the 256 colors or maybe something else I know may be the problem. Try what I mentioned first; if that doesn't work then we could troubleshoot through some alternatives.

Funny thing is, I've since reinstalled the game and, running on standard settings (no compatibility, standard palate, etc.), I can now play it and it seems to be working perfectly without any of the other issues a few people seem to have had.
