Colors[]
Here's something else that I was wondering about that might be worked on, so I'm creating yet another topic to hear some opinions.
First, the main picture for character profiles. They have been changed around a bit, some using an official picture, some using fan created art, and so forth. Some people haven't been happy that the top picture isn't a ZUN work and have reverted changes some people have made. e I just want to say that all of the official pictures are in the profiles on the bottom of the pages, so there really isn't a reason to repeat the same picture twice on one page, it's redundant. Therefore, there really isn't a reason the picture at the top can't be a fan work as long as it meshes with the profile and background well (having Satori on a lime green background on the profile might look bad, for example). Once a picture has been put up though, unless it is inappropriate, discussion about changing it should be on the talk page for whatever profile/page is in question.
Second, extra fan works that might provide insight into a character/event/location are fine, but we need a good way to fit these onto the pages.
For example - http://touhou.wikia.com/index.php?title=Yuyuko_Saigyouji&oldid=148621 tried to illustrated something via fan art, but just inserting the picture into the page can mess up the page format so we need to think of a way where these works can fit in without upsetting the balance of the page.

- We can make a page for fan created pictures, or a gallery at the bottom of the page. TO change the front pae pictures, we could have people vote, same for any of the other front page items. We could also work on creating a template that sits at the top of the page that links to seperate page parts about a character. Some of it being completely related to fan portions, fun facts, character basics, and stuff in the game. It's pretty easy to make tabs and links between them, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem :) we'd just have to move all the info and get used to it.

- Well, I do need to add a part to the pages relating specifically to fan portions. Now, there are two ways that can be done. First, I can just do it within the existing structure. Or... we can do it while making things nicer by doing something like you suggested. I'll plead ignorance here, I've been playing with one of the profile pages to see and I guess I'm not sure of the best way to implement such a change. I suppose once I actually saw an example of what you are thinking about, I can do most of the grunt work of changing things. I guess I'm not sure what you are envisioning here, I blame me for this, of course.

- I used the idea here, but I've been neglecting my duties there, too >.> However, every page is connected to the first/main page by name and by the bar at the top, which is the same on every page. It was really easy to implement because I used a bot which added the bar at the top of each page and created the other ones. Parvani is my bot for that wiki. All the edits done by Pai are hidden because I asked for her to be bot flagged, but you can still look them over (which I do, just in case of a mistake). --Imanie 07:09, July 8, 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, yeah... that is what I was thinking you were talking about, and I believe that it is a good idea to go with. I think I'll work on a test run of this today as I have some free time, and then I'll see about rolling out the changes and seeing what (or any) feedback comes our way. I think this will clean up the character pages a lot and make room for more fan culture kinds of things while not bleeding into the "official" touhou things.
- Eventually it could be used beyond character pages with similar templates to fit (for games/whatever) but I think starting slow and seeing how things work out is best. VS3025 15:40, July 8, 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, I used Aya Shameimaru as my test. I think it separates things quite nicely instead of just having one huge page devoted to the character, you can find the information you need easier and it is also easier to find the appropriate place to make edits. I'll solicit some opinions about the design change before going forward with applying it across the board. However, I'm pretty confident that this should work out. The bar can be put at the top of each main page simply by changing the character info template, however, the other pages will have to be created, either manually or by bot, and the information will probably need to be moved manually, but I can take care of that.

Templates and Junk[]
I think the infobox templates need an overhaul!
The character templates look kind of bland, they're white and grey. I can easily make collapsible boxes inside a template to shorten some information. For instance, in Aya's case, her description could be collapsed, relationships and appearance. I also think that the Character Titles page should be scrapped and added to the character page.
All character pages should have a box with links to the other characters at the bottom. What would be even cooler, is if when you click the link at the bottom, it will transfer you to the same type of page you were already looking at (for instance, if you were on profiles and clicked on Reimu, you would be sent to Reimu's profile page).
I do think additional information in games should be made to look like what we're envisioning for the character pages, with separate pages connected to the top that link back to the main page fully, also with the same bottom clicky idea that lists all the games.
I prefer the smaller look of the game templates, but we'll be changing the color to something that matches :3 The links at the top of some pages that say return to main page" should be removed. We can easily click the image at the top to be returned to the main page.
Lyric pages need a major revamp. Since they are split up into threes, they can all either try to get smushed into one page, or we add the link at the top idea so the actually all link together. The little word Kanji at the bottom is not a very well placed link. --Imanie 12:58, July 9, 2011 (UTC)
